Ms. Capaldi was nominated as 'Best Dancer' for Portland, Maine's Best Of Portland awards in 2011. She performs a nontraditional, improvisational performance of tribal belly dance in response to live beatbox. This piece is the absolute bare bones of improv; both dancer and musician are meeting for the very first time. On stage. As a student of both flamenco and belly dance, Cait feels the most important aspect of her dance expression comes from a place of strength, confidence and body awareness.
