Israa's music is truly a marriage between the East and the West. Having lived overseas and growing up around the world, her music is inspired by a diverse set of genres, from acoustic-folk all the way to Sufi chants. With rich undertones of Hindustani classical raagas, Israa laces it altogether with delicate acoustic melodies and vivid lyrics. Her unique style of story telling in each song comes with powerful messages about self-discovery, human connection and calls to action on women's issues around the world. For Israa, her music is not only a way for her to connect with herself, but for it to shed light on all of us and how we connect with one another. Israa has performed at venues in Kuwait, India, Minneapolis and Chicago and continues to write and record in English, Arabic and Urdu. Proceeds from the sale of her first album, "Rooh-e-Parwaaz", continue to finance micro-loans for young women in India determined to break out of poverty.
